Jim Carrey on New Yorker’s Steve Bannon invitation: Don’t let Cujo into the house

Jim Carrey says Steve Bannon is entitled to speak. He just doesn’t want to be part of any platform that includes the former White House adviser to President Donald Trump.

On Monday, Carrey tweeted he wouldn’t participate in The New Yorker Festival next month, after learning that morning that Bannon was scheduled to be interviewed by editor David Remnick during the three-day event.

After immediate opposition from magazine staff and readers and withdrawals by some festival participants (Patton Oswalt, Jimmy Fallon, Judd Apatow), Remnick rescinded the invitation later Monday. In a statement to the Associated Press, Bannon called Remnick “gutless when confronted by the howling online mob.”
