Jessica Simpson Just Posted The Perfect Clap-Back Photo For Her Mommy Shamers

  • Last Sunday, Jessica Simpson was mom-shamed for posting an Instagram of her new baby, Birdie Mae, sleeping on her stomach.
  • The picture was criticized because letting an infant sleep on her stomach increases their chances of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
  • A week later, she posted a new picture of Birdie sleeping on her back, with a caption poking fun at the Instagram trolls.

It’s messed up, but all celebrities know that posting a photo of their child on social media means opening yourself up to mommy shamers. No one seems to be immune, not even the most glam celebs like Jessica Simpson. She’s seen her fair share of mom-shaming, including just last week when she caught some heat for posting a photo of her daughter Birdie Mae sleeping on her stomach.

Jessica usually ignores all that crap, but now she’s fighting back with a hilarious new Instagram post that poked fun at the haterade she dealt with last time around. In the post, little Birdie can be seen sleeping on her back. “I like to pose on my belly, but I love to sleep on my back #BIRDIEMAE,” Jessica wrote in the caption. (And tbh, she nailed it.)

The caption was a direct response to two Easter photos Jessica shared on Insta of Birdie. In both photos, she’s lying on her stomach, and plenty of people pointed out in the comments that this isn’t recommended because it can increase a baby’s risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Jessica’s mom Tina (politely) fired back in the comments, noting that Birdie was only briefly posed that way for pics. “We stood over her and placed her in that position for a picture only! Enjoy the preciousness! Happy Easter,” she wrote.

Reaction to Jessica’s latest post has been way more positive, with people largely telling her to ignore the mom shaming. “Don’t listen to the haters! You know your stuff. She’s beautiful!” one person wrote. “Beautiful! Most of us knew you were a knowledgeable Mom,” another said.

Mommy shaming sucks, but it’s good to know that Jessica can at least laugh about it.
