Jennie McAlpine, 36, can be seen three times a week gracing the cobbles as Fiz Stape. The actress has been in Coronation Street for over two decades, racking up 2170 appearances according to the soap’s Fandom page. When she isn’t shouting at colleague Alan Halsall, who plays her on-screen on/off partner Tyrone Dobbs, Jennie likes to dabble in a little reality TV show as well as running her own restaurant – so it is no surprise that over the years she has racked up a considerable net worth.

With a longstanding role on an iconic British role, as well as a few appearances on reality TV shows and game shows, Jennie is said to be worth around £1.1million according to networthandsalary.com.

Jennie’s big break into the industry came in 1997 when she was just 13 years old.

Having competed in a comedy show in London, she came second in a Young Comedian of the Year competition run by Fanta.

It was where she met TV presenter Jonathan Ross and comedian Peter Kay who inspired her to enter the following year, but she placed second again.

Having focussed on stand-up for a couple more years, Jennie eventually landed a job in a soap – but fans of the actress may not know that Coronation Street was not her debut.

In fact, Jennie appeared in Emmerdale from 1999 to 2001, playing the role of Michelle Morley.

She then left for Weatherfield at the age of 17 and has not looked back since.

Her character, Fiz, was first seen as a foster child taken in by Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh).

For most of the 2000s, she lived with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) before moving into No.5 to take care of her brother Chesney (Sam Aston).

Jennie’s most iconic storyline involved Fiz marrying John Stape (Graeme Hawley), with whom she helped bury three bodies of people he killed, lied to the police about it and gave birth to her daughter, Hope, prematurely in the 50th anniversary live episode.

She is now seen in scenes with Tyrone and Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman).

Away from Coronation Street, Jennie took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2017 and was eliminated eighth.

Following on from that appearance, Jennie landed herself a job as voiceover for ITV2’s remake of Supermarket Sweep hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal.

She has also made several guest appearances on ITV’s Loose Women as a panellist.

As for her personal life, Jennie gave birth to her first child, Albert in 2014 and married long-term partner Chris Farr, in secret, a few years later.

In 2018, Jennie revealed through Twitter she was pregnant with her second child and gave birth to Hilda at the end of the year.

When Jennie isn’t busy on the Street, she is busy with her restaurant in Manchester.

Annies is described as a “chilled-out tearoom and comfort-food diner” with an element of “home baking”.
