Check is the print of the season, and one Zara piece in particular has been a runaway success with fashion bloggers and shoppers alike.

The Spanish retailer’s orange check pencil skirt has become a sensation on Instagram with street style stars eager to show off the high waisted, midi skirt.

Such is the popularity of the £49.99 piece that it’s now sold out in every size online, and customers have to sign up to a waiting list if they want to try to get their hands on one.  

Fans may have some luck in store with limited stock remaining in some branches. 

It’s no wonder the skirt has been so popular with a pumpkin spice shade that ticks all the seasonal boxes and check being the most popular print of the new season. 

German fashion blogger Sosue_official gave her high street skirt from Zara a glamorous touch by teaming it with Chanel heels. The £49.99 piece is now sold out completely online 


French fashion blogger Valérie-Anne, pictured wearing the skirt in Paris in September described it as a new classic (left). Another Paris fashionista Samyjo Valentine teamed her Zara number with a cropped t-shirt and shoe boots in August 

It’s not the first time in recent months Zara has sent shoppers into a frenzy with a must-have item.

A pair of £25.99 flats virtually sold out within hours of going on sale at the end of last month – the second time they have been completely snapped up by frantic shoppers.

Fortunately the slip-on shoes have since been restocked and are available to buy online. 

The shoes were first released two months ago and were quickly sold out, with shoppers signing up to be notified via email when they were back in stock. 

The £49.99 Zara pencil skirt is currently sold out online in all sizes, but customers may be able to snap up the last remaining items in store

In July shoppers went wild for a £79.99 printed blazer by Zara, which bears a very striking resemblance to a much more expensive £1,720 jacket by Prada. 

Zara’s blue patterned blazer, which is part of the retailer’s Autumn/Winter 2018 collection, features striking feather sleeves and a circular print.

Meanwhile, the Prada jacket also features a tile print and statement sleeves, along with a tie belt around the waist.
