Inside Rylan Clark, Emma Willis and Oti Mabuse’s gruelling Scottish adventure for Comic Relief

Emma Willis, Oti Mabuse and Rylan Clark have set off on a gruelling trek in order to raise money for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day.

Emma, 46, Oti, 32, and Rylan, 34, began their three-day journey in the village of Braemar, near Aberdeen, on 8 February, with crowds of supporters and the Ballater and District Pipe Band waving them off.

The trio are attempting to reach the summit of the Cairngorm Mountain, and the first part of their trek saw them make their way through the foothills of the Southern Cairngorms before setting up camp.

Ahead of their challenge, Emma admitted: "There are so many parts of this that scare me. It’s going to be so tough."

Dancing On Ice judge Oti, who was previously a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, agreed with Emma, saying she was "petrified", as reported by the Independent.

“I know Comic Relief challenges are meant to push you, but this will be the hardest thing I have ever taken on… I’m going to have to dig deep to make it to the finish line," the 32 year old said.

Meanwhile TV presenter Rylan appeared to feeling more excited for challenge, as he explained: "I know this might seem quite strange, I’m actually looking forward to disappearing for a bit and being cut off."

He also added: “I’ve got two strong women around me that I know will drag me through it when it’s getting hard and hopefully, I can do the same for them.”

Treking to the summit of Cairngorm is said to be an intense test of willpower, determination and survival skills, and the celebrity trio will be faced with icy winds and snow as temperatures continue to plunge the further they make it up the mountain. Cairngorm sits 1,245m, or 4,085 ft, above seal level, with temperatures forecasted to hit freezing.

Fans will also get to watch Rylan, Emma and Oti's Comic Relief challenge in full, as the entire three-day trek is being filmed for a special one-off BBC documentary, titled Frozen: Emma, Oti and Rylan’s Red Nose Day Challenge.

The show will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the lead up to Red Nose Day, which lands on Friday 17 March this year.

Red Nose Day will air on BBC One on 17 March with AJ Odudu, David Tennant, Joel Dommett, Paddy McGuinness and Zoe Ball taking on hosting duties.

Money raised will go towards tackling the current cost-of-living crisis in addition to issues such as homelessness and food poverty in the UK and globally.
