I'm still having wet dreams in my 40s

DEAR DEIDRE: ALTHOUGH I am 44, some nights I still have wet dreams.

I can’t remember what I dream about but when I wake up, the sheets are stained and I’m really embarrassed.

I have been married for 15 years. My wife, who is 38, is the one that changes the bed, so I can’t hide it, and she gets upset about it.

She’s jealous because she thinks I’m dreaming about other women. Our sex life isn’t great – I find it hard to last very long.

My doctor says it’s normal, but I don’t think my wife agrees.

Is there something wrong with me? And is there anything I can do – or take – to stop them?

DEIDRE SAYS: This is all perfectly normal and you can’t stop it.

Most guys have wet dreams during puberty and even sometimes during adulthood. They usually happen less as guys get older.

They are harmless and actually show you are sexually healthy.

Talk to your wife and tell her she has no reason to be jealous. Reassure her that you desire her and want to improve your sex life. And offer to change the sheets.

My support pack, Want To Last Longer, should help.
