How Meghan and Harry will ensure Archie identifies as ‘truly American-English’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry introduced Archie Harrison to the world last week.

The royal baby reveal was met with joy by royal fans all over the world.

The little boy holds dual citizenship, having a British father and American mother.

An expert has told Express.co.uk that Harry and Meghan will ensure the little boy is familiar with his US roots.

Meghan Markle baby: How Prince Harry will ensure Archie identifies as ‘truly American-English’

Zoe Bonser, Show Director at The Baby Show (www.thebabyshow.co.uk, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC in late May, claimed Meghan will be keen to teach Archie about the US.

“Little Archie is going to have a fascinating upbringing with his mother being American and his father English,” Zoe said. “Meghan will want to teach him a lot about her home country and they may well have a home out there that they travel to regularly so Archie identifies as truly American-English.”

Meghan Markle was born and raised in Hollywood, attending school not far from Hollywood Boulevard.

She later moved to Canada to film Suits, the show which brought her international fame.

Meghan and Harry are expected to raise Archie in a modern manner, the expert claimed.

Zoe said: “Meghan and Harry have already shown that they have a modern take on parenting, choosing to do things their way and not sticking to convention.

“Meghan wanted a home birth and while she didn’t get to do that in the end, she broke with tradition by looking into hypnobirthing and the options available to her.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have travelled around the world together, to Africa, Australia and many other countries. It is expected they will continue to do so, with Archie in tow.

“There were also reports that they were delivered an i-Candy pram rather than going with the traditional Silver Cross as favoured by the Queen and Kate and William, showing their propensity for perhaps more high-tech parenting equipment that facilitates lots of outdoor travel,” Zoe said.

“We know that Meghan and Harry are both very active and outdoorsy people and the chances are they’re not going to be afraid to encourage their little one to get outside and enjoy the outdoors and wildlife as much as they do.”

Another expert has claimed Meghan Markle will co-sleep with baby Archie.

Women’s mentor and clinical hypnotherapist Catherine Raincock said: “Will this be the end of night nannies in the royal palace? I think so.

“I can see Meghan co-sleeping with her little bundle.”

She later moved on to roles in CSI, Without a Trace and Castle along with bit parts in Hollywood films including Get Him to the Greek, Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

Meghan was also a “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal – but her most famous role was as Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits, which launched in 2011.

Charity and humanitarian work

Meghan Markle’s career in television has gone hand-in-hand with her support for causes close to her heart.

She wrote about the stigma around menstrual health in an article for Time magazine and was a Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada – with whom she travelled to Rwanda for the charity’s Clean Water Campaign.

In September 2011, she wed film producer Trevor Engelson, who she began dating in 2004.

But the pair divorced two years later in August 2013, citing irreconcilable difference.

She was in a relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello for almost two years, before they broke it off in 2016 but the two remain good friends.

And in June 2016, she met Prince Harry on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

Their relationship began in October that year and just over one year later, on November 27, 2017, the pair announced their engagement.

They married on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Meghan’s heritage

Some have claimed Meghan Markle is the first mixed-race member of the Royal Family.

Historians are still arguing about Queen Charlotte, the wife of King George III.

But Meghan will be the first royal to openly embrace a mixed-race heritage.

She has written about the difficulties of being a biracial actress in Hollywood as she claims she is not black enough for some roles and not white enough for others.
