Sources have confirmed that yes, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry got engaged … and on Valentine’s Day! A snap was taken of the couple in front of a lot of red roses and balloons, with Perry sporting a gorgeous ring that looked suspiciously like an engagement band.

The news was first confirmed when Katy Perry’s mother posted a few snaps from the couple’s “secret” engagement party. The images were captioned with “Look who got engaged on Valentine’s Day!!!” The snaps were later deleted, which tells us the couple didn’t mean to tell the world their big news just yet.

Since the snaps were leaked, however, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have gone on to confirm their engagement. Just a few hours prior to their big announcement, Orlando Bloom had a very cute, extremely romantic post on Instagram.

The post read: “A shallow person will have only shallow relationships. Real love is not one person clinging to another , it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality…. Love is not two people gazing at each other, but two people looking ahead together in the same direction.”

When did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom begin dating?

The couple was first linked in January 2016, when they attending two Golden Globe after parties together. The relationship was not confirmed, however, until months later when, in May, Katy Perry posted an image of the two together. They were laid out on the steps of Cannes’ Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. The image was captioned “we cannes’t.”

A few months later, the couple stirred up some controversy while vacationing together in Italy. Images were taken of Orlando Bloom in the buff, on the back of a paddleboard with Katy Perry. Bloom was upset and shocked the images were leaked, stating he’d have never done it if he’d believed there would be photographs.

In March 2017, Bloom and Perry broke up. US Magazine broke the news with a statement from the couple’s reps, saying they were “taking respectful, loving space at this time.” Katy Perry tweeted a few days later, stating “U can still b friends & love ur former partners!”

A few months later, the couple reunited to take a motorcycle ride to Ed Sheeran’s concert in Los Angeles. Then, finally, in February 2018, it was confirmed Perry and Bloom were once again an item. In September, the couple made their red carpet debut at the Gala for the Global Ocean in Monaco.
