Harry and Meghan ‘spoil’ baby Archie with incredible Christmas gifts

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly 'spoiled' baby Archie during their first Christmas together as a family.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, to use his full name, will grow up as one of the must privileged children in the world in the British Royal Family.

He's also the first born of superstar royal couple, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, who clearly dote on him, so it's perhaps not surprising that a report of their first Christmas together claims he was showered with gifts.

As the Mirror has reported , the new family spent Christmas at a luxurious £10million waterside estate and mansion in Canada, understood to belong to a Russian oligarch.

And it's there, according to a source who spoke to US , that the new parents bought Archie "books, building blocks, a baby ball pit," the source said.

They added that "it's not all about extravagant gifts for them".

This would chime with a description of the royal couple by American comic and chat-show host, Ellen Degeneres, who said they were "the most down-to-earth, compassionate people".

Indeed, Harry and Meghan were so keen to give their son a normal life, they chose at birth to not give him the courtesy title Earl Dumbarton or style him Lord Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, instead taking it upon themselves to decide he should just be a plain 'Master'.

Building blocks are a classic present for newborns as they learn to navigate the physical world and develop their coordination skills.

With books, parents Harry and Meghan will be able to read to their son and start him on the road to developing language skills – something which is likely to be important as he surely grows up into a sought-after public figure.

And a ball pit is perfect for when he just wants to thrash around and be boisterous, like many other infant boys his age.

It was also reported that Archie – like his cousin and future king, Prince George – is already showing his confident, outgoing side.

As a baby, at his first 'meet and greet', in 2014 Prince George seemed bold and confident, going straight for the biggest toy in the room.

And it would seem Archie is no different.

The source told Us: “You can tell Archie’s going to be a confident social butterfly.

“He loves being entertained and interacting with people. Some children get shy or nervous around new people, but not Archie. He’ll go to anyone without kicking up a fuss!”

The Duke and Duchess chose to spend the festive period on Vancouver Island as opposed to staying with the rest of the Royal Family at Sandringham.

Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, were also joined by the Duchess's mum Doria Ragland – who briefly lived with the couple when they first brought Archie, now seven months old, home to Frogmore Cottage .

Locals reported they had seen Harry and Meghan out jogging in the Canadian town of North Saanich and others had spotted them hiking in Horth Hill Regional Park on Vancouver Island.

Harry and Meghan also shared a photo of their Christmas card in the run-up to December 25.

The adorable photo shows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex laughing in the background with Archie's cute little face in the foreground.

The family is sat comfortably on the floor in front of a Christmas tree, complete with flashing lights and baubles.

Meghan and Harry have been criticised for deciding to spend Christmas away from Prince Philip and the Queen on what could be their last Christmas.

They also missed the Queen's pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.

While they enjoy Christmas Day on the other side of the Atlantic, other senior members of the Royal Family attended a church service in Sandringham, Norfolk.

Prince Charles and Prince Andrew were seen walking to the church ahead of the service, in what appeared to be a public show of support from the Prince of Wales and his scandal-hit brother.
