Fans think they know why LeBron made slow start for Lakers vs Timberwolves

LeBron James is one of the greatest players to every play in the NBA – so when he is slightly off-colour, fans understandably speculate as to why.

James scored 10 points as the Los Angeles Lakers went in to the half-time break tied at 66-66 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.

But, especially early in the half, he didn’t quite seem himself before growing into the game as it progressed.

LeBron is notorious for his social media activity, in particular Instagram , and he was active on the platform 24 hours before the clash against the Timberwolves.

He shared snaps of the wine he was drinking in the day before the game having helped the Lakers to a modest 2-4 start to the NBA campaign.

And fans were quick to point out the posts on his Instagram stories after his slow start to the game.

Twitter user @DmnkCeai posted: "Would be quite cool if LeBron could stop being hungover for the second half and play a little better."

@edwelfare added: "LeBron gotta be hungover, I’ve never seen him miss this many point blank layups."

@NBALakersNation wrote: "LeBron might be drunk but he’s starting to get it going lmao. This is his ‘hungover game’."

LeBron left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in his career at the end of last season to join the Lakers at the age of 33.

Since his debut season in 2003, LeBron has won the NBA championship three times: twice with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013 before leading the Cavs to the title in 2016.

He has been named the most valuable player in the league on four separate occasions in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013.

LeBron has also won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA at the Beijing Games in 2008 and at London 2012.
