Cleopatra Entertainment Acquires North American Rights To ‘Vurdalak Blood’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Cleopatra Entertainment has acquired the North American and English-speaking territory rights to the horror film “Vurdalak Blood,” which will be released on VOD platforms in October.

Based on Aleksey Tolstoy’s 1839 short story “The Family Of The Vourdalak,” the film takes place in the uncertain hours after a vampire hunt when it’s unclear if the hunter himself has been turned into a creature of the night. Will his family find out in time, or will their sentiment make them easy prey for the novice nightwalker?

After its recent international film festival run, the project was discovered at the BiFAN NAFF co-production market, where it was a Work In Progress selection.

Directed by Argentinian genre filmmaker Santiago Fernandez Calvete, The film is a co-production between Aramos Cine and 108 Media. It stars German Palacios, Tomas Carullo Lizzio, Naiara Awada, Lautaro Bettoni and Alfonsina Carrocio.

The rights deal was brokered by Cleopatra Founder and CEO Brian Perera, Tim Yasui VP/GM of Cleopatra Entertainment and Jordan Nutson from 108 Media Corp on behalf of the filmmakers.

The International Olympic Committee Sets On Location As Exclusive Hospitality Provider to 2028

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has set On Location as the exclusive global hospitality provider for all summer and winter Olympic and Paralympic Games until 2028.

On Location will offer fans and Olympic stakeholders hospitality packages that include tickets, travel, accommodation and unique in-venue and host city hospitality. Families and friends of athletes competing at the Games will also be supported by the hospitality provider with enhanced support for travel, a dedicated ticket inventory and access to accommodation.

The reform is part of the Olympic Agenda 2020+5 vision, which aims to simplify operations as well as drive efficiency and revenue sources. Previously, the IOC worked with various authorized ticket resellers (ATRs) from several territories or countries to provide tickets and other accommodations to customers. On Location will work with the Organizing Committee on the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026 and LA28.

“One of the recommendations of Olympic Agenda 2020+5 is to deliver additional turnkey solutions that could be provided to OCOGs to simplify the delivery complexity of the Games,” IOC president Thomas Bach said. “This new solution will deliver a simplified, secure process for fans around the world to attend the Games. The centralization of the project also contributes greatly to better oversight and, with this, to good governance. It will also directly support the staging of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, all the National Olympic Committees and most importantly their athletes.”

“At On Location, we are dedicated to providing our customers with exceptional live event experiences that produce memories to last a lifetime,” On Location president Paul Caine said. “We are honored to join the International Olympic Committee in reimagining hospitality at future Olympic and Paralympic Games, and we are committed to providing stakeholders, partners and fans around the globe with exclusive hospitality experiences that uniquely celebrate each host city.”
