When is the Cheltenham Gold Cup, what’s the distance and which sort of horses can enter?

The 2019 Gold Cup will take place on Friday, March 15 at 15:30 (3.30pm).

It’s a Grade 1 National Hunt race open to horses five years and older only and is run over a distance of three miles, two and a half furlongs.

The Gold Cup is the pinnacle of National Hunt Racing.

Who is running in the 2019 Gold Cup?

There are no confirmed runners but last year’s winner and runner-up, Native River and Might Bite, are likely to be back for another crack at the race.

The likes of Presenting Percy and Road To Respect are also in the mix along with Kemboy and King George winner Clan Des Obeaux.
