Brooklyn Beckham Swears His Chef Gig Pays The Bills (Not His Parents)

Brooklyn Beckham is receiving backlash after suggesting his job as a chef pay for his luxurious lifestyle. As the eldest son of power couple David and Victoria Beckham – who have an estimated $450 million net worth – the Internet is reminding Brooklyn why he lives a life of privilege.

According to Buzzfeed, the controversy was sparked after Brooklyn appeared in TikToker Daniel Mac’s “What Do You Do For A Living?” series.

The social media star approached Brooklyn while he was driving a red McLaren P1. This is one of the rarest cars in the world, with only 375 models produced. The ride is worth $1.2 million.

“Hey man, what do you do for a living? Your car’s awesome,” the TikToker asked Brooklyn after stopping him on Rodeo Drive.

Brooklyn instantly recognized David, saying, “Oh my god, I know you.” He then answered the social media star’s question, “I’m a chef.” Daniel pressed Brooklyn on how he could afford the expensive vehicle, asking, “Are you, like, the best chef in the world?”

Brooklyn replied, “Trying to be.” He was then asked for advice for folks wanting to get into the cooking industry. “Just follow your passion, whatever makes you happy, keep doing it,” Brooklyn said before he drove off in the sports car.

Once Daniel uploaded the clip, the comments section were filled with people frustrated that Brooklyn seemed to imply his work as a chef was the reason he could afford the six-figure car.

“Born into a multimillionaire family and now married a billionaire’s daughter. But he’s a chef!!” one TikTok user wrote.

Another person added, “Not him pretending being a chef got him that car… Brooklyn, please.” A different comment read, “What do you do for a living?’ Born to Victoria and David Beckham.”

Brooklyn first announced he was foraying into cooking in 2021 with the launch of his Cookin’ with Brooklyn series, which cost approximately $100,000 per episode. Brooklyn repeatedly had no chef training prior to the series, and he’s been criticized for his lack of skill in the kitchen.

Prior to this, Brooklyn tried his hand at modelling as well as being a photographer, though neither career paths stuck for the celebrity offspring.

However, Brooklyn just celebrated a big milestone in his personal life – his marriage to Nicola Peltz. His new wife also comes from a wealth background, as she’s the daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, who has a net worth of $1.8 billion.
