Brazen burglar steals 13-week-old bulldog puppy in broad daylight raid on home

Police launched a manhunt after a burglar was caught on camera stealing a puppy in a broad daylight house raid.

Doorbell camera footage released by West Midlands Police shows the intruder carrying the tan-coloured XL Bulldog, named Tyson, in a large brown paper bag as he walks in front of the house owner's neighbour's front door.

The burglar broke into the property in Rafferty Adams Way in Coventry at 11am on Monday.

According to police, the suspect also stole an engagement ring and clothing before scooping up Tyson and dashing out of the property.

The 13-week-old pup has since been found and reunited with his owner, but officers are appealing for information of the burglar.

Dog owner Rachel Brooks broke the news on Facebook yesterday after days of appeal.

She wrote: "Tyson is home, with his family where he belongs.

"I am so overwhelmed with all the support from family, friends, and strangers that we have never met I cannot thank you all enough.

"Tyson is ok, he is cold, tired and hungry and had been left out in the cold to fend for himself.

"Nothing plenty of snuggles won't solve. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."

Detective Constable Mario Poleszak, of West Midlands Police, said: "The burglar was determined to get his hands on whatever he could taking sentimental items and stooping as low as taking a young pup.
