New mother Carrie Symonds has wished Dilyn the dog a happy first birthday on social media.
Boris Johnson’s fiancée shared a series of snaps of the pup on Twitter this morning to mark the occasion.
The couple, who welcomed son Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson last month, adopted Dilyn last year from the small animal charity Friends of Animals Wales.

Posting a close up of the pup’s face, Carrie wrote (above): ‘Happy 1st Birthday Dilyn!’ and encouraged her 126,000 followers to adopt a dog with the hashtag ‘#AdoptDontShop’
Carrie then thanked the charity who helped her home Dilyn. She wrote (above): ‘Please support the work of Friends of Animals Wales if you can. They rescue and home so many wonderful pups.’

Dilyn, who now trots along the corridors of power at Whitehall, was born on a Carmarthenshire puppy farm with a misaligned jaw.
He was saved by the small animal charity Friends of Animals Wales, which specialises in rescuing sick and discarded farmed dogs, alongside his brother, Jed — from almost certain death.

The pup then travelled from Wales to Downing Street at the end of last year to start his new life at Number 10.
His name is a Welsh word, a nod to his Welsh origin, which means ‘to follow’ or ‘pursue’. It is also said to mean ‘loyal’ when used as a name in Ireland.
The PM has previously revealed that Dilyn has helped him reduce his stress levels by taking regular walks with his dog.

Boris told how his morning routine involves taking Dilyn, the Jack Russell cross bought by Mr Johnson and his girlfriend Carrie, down to the Downing Street garden.
Dilyn joins Larry the cat, Downing Street’s other famous pet, at the Prime Minister’s official residence.
But unlike Larry, whose official title is the ‘chief mouser’, the puppy belongs to Mr Johnson and Miss Symonds, rather than the occupant of Downing Street.
Carrie gave birth in London on April 29 with the Prime Minister at her side, days after he himself had been released from medical care following a lengthy battle with coronavirus.

In a heart-warming Instagram post revealing the boy’s name, Carrie revealed that the middle name Nicholas was a tribute to two NHS doctors, Dr Nick Price and Dr Nick Hart, who ‘saved Boris’ life last month’ following his battle with coronavirus.
The first name is a tribute to the PM’s paternal grandfather, Osman Wilfred Kemal, and Lawrie a reference to Carrie’s grandfather.
Accompanying the caption was a photograph in which the first-time mother was seen tightly cradling her son, who sported an extraordinary full head of hair not dissimilar to that of his father.
The 32-year-old fiancee of Mr Johnson wrote: ‘Introducing Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas born on 29.04.20 at 9am. Wilfred after Boris’ grandfather Lawrie after my grandfather Nicholas after Dr Nick Price and Dr Nick Hart – the two doctors that saved Boris’ life last month.
‘Thank you so, so much to the incredible NHS maternity team at UCLH that looked after us so well. I couldn’t be happier. My heart is full.’
