Bebe Rexha: Designers won’t dress me for Grammys because I’m ‘too big’

Bebe Rexha is taking fashion designers to task for saying she’s “too big” to dress.

The 29-year-old pop star, who’s nominated for best new artist at next month’s Grammys, is having a difficult time finding an outfit for the awards show, and shared her frustration in the form of an Instagram video on Monday.

“So, I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like, the coolest thing ever. And a lot of times, artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet,” Rexha explained.

“So I had my team hit out a lot of designers, and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, I’m too big.”

Continued the “I’m a Mess” singer: “If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you. Then I don’t want to wear your f—king dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.”

“So all the people who said I’m thick and can’t wear dresses: F—k you, I don’t wanna wear your f—king dresses,” Rexha concluded.

The star shared a similar sentiment on Instagram last year, declaring herself “size 8 and proud” and explaining that the sample sizes designers typically send celebrities “won’t fit and I won’t change myself to make them fit,” adding, “Work with me and my big fat ass.”

Judging by Leslie Jones’ and Megan Mullally’s similar struggles to find designers willing to dress them for red carpet events, we’re guessing it’s only a matter of time before Christian Siriano — who outfitted Rexha for last year’s VMAs and Billboard Music Awards — swoops in for the rescue.
