Actress and comedian Kathryn Hahn stunned on the Critics Choice Awards’ red carpet. The WandaVision star and nominee for Best Actress in a Limited Series turned heads in her metallic mauve Dior gown, which was perfectly accentuated by her glamorously polished, brushed-through beach waves

Actress and comedian Kathryn Hahn looked divine on the Critics Choice Awards’ red carpet.

The WandaVision star and nominee for Best Actress in a Limited Series turned heads in her metallic mauve Dior gown, which was perfectly accentuated by her glamorously polished, brushed-through beach waves.

‘Our inspiration is always Caroline de Maigret and Lou Doillon,’ said celebrity hairstylist Marilee Albin.

‘We love that chic, timeless, effortless hair vibe. It’s polished and modern.’

To achieve the soft texture, movement, and touchability in those light waves, Albin started by washing Kathryn’s hair with New Dawn Activated Charcoal Scalp Cleanser by Better Not Younger for a clean base, followed by Second Chance Repairing Conditioner.

The conditioner uses Ceramide-NG, Rice Bran Protein, and plant oils to repair and moisturize without weighing hair down, says Albin, so she can create volume while keeping hair healthy and shiny.

She then sprayed Kathryn’s damp hair all over with Better Not Younger’s No Remorse Heat Protection & Taming Spray to tame unruly pieces while blow drying with a round brush.

Albin separated out a mohawk section of Kathryn’s hair and applied the brand’s Lift Me Up Hair Thickener, a lightweight spray treatment that lifts hair at the roots, nourishes the scalp, and promotes thicker-looking hair over time.

Applied in this way, it acted as a volumizer and added bounce at the root without stickiness, which is crucial for Albin because she wants Kathryn to touch and play with her hair.

‘Kathryn is great with hands in her hair,’ she says. ‘I encourage her to tuck it behind an ear or toss it around to give us those perfect, easy, French girl red carpet moments!’

After applying Lift Me Up, Albin hit Kathryn’s hair with heat again, using a small 1” boar bristle round brush to twist strands in alternating directions on every other section.

She let hair cool to set, then shook it out with her fingers and diffused it for touchable texture.

A quick pass with a flat iron on flyaways to smooth them down and a middle part finished off the soft and shiny look.

‘I love using Better Not Younger on red carpet days because it layers itself so well,’ says Albin. ‘Better Not Younger products create a good foundation for the style to last all day or night without falling flat or getting greasy!’

Sandra Oh wowed on the red carpet of the 27th Critics’ Choice Awards in a white Lafayette 148 gown. From her clothing to her glam, the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series shined bright

Sandra Oh wowed on the red carpet of the 27th Critics Choice Award.

Nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, the star brought her fashion and beauty A-game.

Celebrity makeup artist Jo Strettell wanted a look that was clean, fresh, and striking to go with Sandra’s floor-length white Lafayette 148 gown.

To prep “The Chair” star’s skin, Jo used Pause Well-Aging Skincare, a favorite of Sandra’s.

‘I pulled the Pause products out of my kit and Sandra said, “Ooh, I like this brand!’”

Celebrity makeup artist Jo Strettell wanted a look that was clean, fresh, and striking to go with Sandra’s floor-length white dress. To prep “The Chair” star’s skin, Jo used Pause Well-Aging Skincare

Strettell started with the Pause Detox Serum, with pore-clarifying willow bark extract, as T-zones tend get a little shiny on the red carpet.

‘The Detox Serum makes a great base under makeup,’ said Strettell.

She immediately followed up with the peptide-rich Pause Collagen Boosting Moisturizer.

‘Sandra’s skin is flawless,’ said Strettell, ‘but all skin needs moisture as we get older. I love the feeling of this moisturizer on the skin. It’s really hydrating, but it’s not so rich that that the makeup on top will move around.’

Then she gave the star’s eye area some love with the Pause Eye Renewal Treatment, which brightens and depuffs.

‘So many eye creams are heavy. The Pause cream is super light and makes the skin feel smooth. You can just dab it in and apply makeup right over it,’ said the pro.

Thanks to the Pause prep, Strettell was able to use minimal foundation on Sandra’s skin, and zero powder.

She applied thin black liner and lots of lashes to bring attention to a shimmery white lid; a rosy wine cheek and a wine-stained lip finished the look.
