  • A co-ord skirt and top, checked suit and dress by cult brand Rixo all appear

Holly Willoughby has had a year full of stylish ensembles, but these just might be the very best.

Fashion experts at Who What Wear have revealed their picks of the four wardrobe heroes that upped the TV presenter’s wardrobe over the last 12 months.

While she can still be seen in her signature flirty frocks, pleated skirts and fitted jumpers, the This Morning star has also taken more risks.

This was particularly evident during her stint in the I’m A Celebrity… jungle, where she made headlines with her chunky hiking boots and daring prints.

Sophisticated co-ords and a chic checked suit also demonstrated sartorial flair.

Read on to see their choice of Holly’s four standout style moments…

RIXO DRESS

Breakout brand: Holly Willoughby has been spotted in a number of pieces by Rixo, a label that has taken social media by storm this year. Pictured, in the £325 Rose dress on I’m A Celebrity

One of this year’s breakout brands, Rixo is a favourite with fashion insiders and trendy It-girls around the world.

Their vintage-inspired dresses, tops, skirts and accessories are stocked by Net-a-Porter and Selfridges, dominate Instagram feeds and have been snapped on stars including Millie Mackintosh and Michelle Williams.

Holly has worn a number of designs by the label this year, most notably donning the £325 Rose backless midi dress in a red tiger print for an appearance on I’m A Celebrity… She also sported a suit by Rixo in October.

CO-ORDS

Bold but simple: This co-ordinated top and skirt was a sophisticated choice for This Morning in March. Holly shared a snap of the look on her Instagram account, pictured

‘Another of Holly’s best looks of the year was this knitted co-ord from Warehouse,’ the article notes. ‘It’s a cosy outfit but still looks put-together.’

The bold red and black stripe ensemble would have been chosen in collaboration with stylist Angie Smith, who the star credits with helping to revamp her on-screen look.

The presenter wore the outfit on This Morning in March. She paired the skirt and top with a pair of black heels from Karen Millen.

CHECKED SUIT

Patterned perfection: The ‘year of the suit’ was seized upon by Holly. She opted for this chic blazer and trouser combination by Claudie Pierlot for an awards show in September

Fashion insiders have dubbed 2018 the ‘year of the pantsuit’ – and Holly is among the stars who have tapped into the moment.

A yellow Jigsaw suit was a sunny choice for a night out to the opera in April, but it is a checked Claudie Pierlot two-piece worn to the TV Choice Magazine awards in September that warrants particular praise.

Mother-of-three Holly styled the tartan blazer and trousers with a Kurt Geiger bag and shoes from Gina.

HIKING BOOTS

Tough girl: Holly’s collection of hiking boots – including this £255 pair by British heritage brand Grenson – garnered much attention in the I’m A Celebrity jungle

Much was made of the presenter’s collection of boots during I’m A Celebrity – with Holly donning a pair for every day in the jungle.

This choice of no-nonsense footwear brought a tough, jungle-ready edginess to the TV queen’s signature flirty frocks, floaty tops and figure-flattering skirts.

Holly wore a number of heavy leather combat and hiking-style boots with thick laces and chunky heels – perfect for keeping her footing on uneven jungle terrain.

Her favourite £255 pair were by British heritage brand Grenson – and her appearances caused them to quickly sell out online.
