Apple TV Plus announced that the second season of “Truth Be Told” will premiere on Aug. 20. New episodes of drama series will be released weekly every Friday.
The second season will see an investigative reporter turned true-crime podcaster Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer) dive into a new case that deeply involves her childhood friend, media mogul Micah Keith (Kate Hudson). As developments unfold, their lifelong friendship is put to the ultimate test.
In addition to Hudson, Christopher Backus, Alona Tal, David Lyons, Andre Royo, Merle Dandridge and Mychala Faith Lee will join the cast as new series regulars. Returning cast members include Mekhi Phifer, Michael Beach, Ron Cephas Jones, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Tami Roman and Katherine LaNasa.
“Truth Be Told” is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman. In addition to Spellman, Spencer; Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine; Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping for Chernin Entertainment; and Mikkel Nørgaard serve as executive producers.

HGTV greenlit “The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project,” a new docuseries starring the married designer duo Nake Berkus and Jeremiah Brent. The six-episode order, tentatively slated for a fall 2021 release, will follow Berkus and Brent as they help families move into new homes and move on from unnecessary belongings. The series is produced by Scott Brothers Entertainment.
