What’s been happening in the fictional land of Genovia in the past 15 years?

Fans of “The Princess Diaries” movies may soon find out.

Mia Thermopolis herself (actress Anne Hathaway) confirmed there’s a script for a third installment of the beloved family movies franchise.

“There is a script for the third movie. I want to do it. Julie (Andrews) wants to do it. Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it. We all really want it to happen. It’s just we don’t want to do it unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it,” the actress said on Thursday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”

The original movie was released in 2001 and was Hathaway’s breakthrough role. She played a San Francisco teenager who learns she’s heir to the Genovian throne after being visited by her queen grandmother, played by Julie Andrews.

In the second movie, “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” (2004), Hathaway’s character is tasked with finding a husband to keep the throne. She falls in love with bad boy and rival heir, Lord Nicholas Devereaux (played by Chris Pine), before abolishing the old royal marriages law.

Hathaway is now 36 and mom to a 2-year-old son, Jonathan. She told Ellen this week she has decided to stay sober at least until her son turns 18.
