Timothee Chalamet may be one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood right now, but judging by a viral Twitter thread, he has his feet very much planted on the ground.
Startled flight passenger Alankrutha (@alankruthahaha) posted a stream of tweets detailing the several hours she spent in the company of the Call Me By Your Name actor – and says he was utterly charming.
After recognizing the 23-year-old rising star sitting next to her in economy on a recent flight, Alankrutha from Houston, Texas documented the entire encounter – and even shared a blurry selfie to back up her story.

Alankrutha described the young star, 23, as ‘pure’ after they shared an hour-long chat. She revealed her first question to him was ‘Why are you sat in economy?’
As the plane taxied off the runway, Alankrutha messaged friends to tell them the ‘dude’ next to her was the ‘same height’ and had the ‘same voice’ as Chalamet
She started the thread: ‘Working on 4 hours of sleep, I am ready to tell everyone how I met Timotheé Chalamet and how we are (probably) friends now?!?!?’
‘SO I enter the flight and see a tall, lanky dude in front of me wearing a hoodie and both of us are the only ones w/o overhead space to keep our bags and I look up to see an actual angel and alarm bells in my head go off immediately,’ she went on.
After realizing she was potentially sitting next to the heartthrob on the three-hour flight, the starstruck fan began messaging her friends on WhatsApp, saying he had the ‘same height’ and ‘same voice’ as the star.
But she wanted to confirm that it was actually him, so she worked up the nerve to say hello.
She explained: ‘Flight takes off and head is exploding bc I *had* to know who this dude so 30 mins into the flight, I work up the courage and nudge him and ask “Hey you look exactly like Timothee Chalamet” to which he smiles and says “I GET THAT A LOT”
‘So I figured he didn’t want to be disturbed and things I did in the process- ate a sandwich, peed twice, kept stealing glances at him and 1.5 hours in, he asked me when the flight was going to land and I couldn’t hold it in and said “I KNOW U R TIMOTHE.”‘

‘HE LAUGHED AND SAID “AYYY YES IT IS, HI I AM TIMOTHEE” and shook my hands and at this point I was basically shook/ stunned and I couldn’t process anything.
She then said she asked him some ‘dumb’ questions that he patiently answered, including why he was sitting in economy class (‘He laughed and said how dare you,’ she said), whether he has met Beyoncé (he hasn’t), and how his Beautiful Boy costar Steve Carrell is (Timothee told her he’s ‘amazing’ and offered to FaceTime him).
Alankrutha also shared a list of some of the things she was horrified had escaped her mouth, including “I googled your height,” ‘I have stalked your Wiki page,’ and ‘Your introductory scene in lady bird kills me though you’re a D-bag in it.
‘This pure BABY asked me where I watched Lady bird and I said I watched it in the theatre and his EYES LIT UP I CANNOT. Anyway, my only regret is that I didn’t ask him to drop his skin care routine, feel like it would’ve led to this,’ she added.
But it wasn’t just the young woman rambling on, she insisted.
‘What shocks me the most is this dude wanted to know about me. He asked me what I do, what project management is about (literally who cares timothee), where I grew up and PRONOUNCED MY NAME RIGHT,’ she said.

‘The BEST discussion we had was about THE OFFICE and which episode we love ( I said dinner party represent) and we discussed the show and at this point I’m like is my life real, is this a fever dream,’ she went on.
‘And whenever he asks me about my life, I’m like !!!!!!! Why do you want to know about an IDIOT like me!!!!! He asks about India, name drops armie hammer (ofc why wouldn’t he) and tells me about his life growing up and how he got into films [sic].
‘And all his questions were super sincere and genuine and he KEPT high fiving/ friendly nudging and while my heart was exploding, I also spoke to him like I would to a friend only bc he made me feel so comfortable!
She dropped some other tidbits, including that Timothee loves the movie Easy A and that when the stewardess offered him flight pretzels and orange juice, he ‘scarfed them down in under 20 seconds like he hadn’t eaten in 48 hours.’
After some ‘good conversation,’ she said he went back to listening to music and she went back to ‘kicking herself’ with for having a conversation with such a ‘pure soul.’
Finally, she said, the flight landed and they spoke about his upcoming films while waiting to get off.
