Christina Anstead, the star of Christina on the Coast, confirmed she was splitting from her husband Ant Anstead. The announcement came three months short of their second wedding anniversary. Fans of the HGTV personalities were shocked by the news and many are wondering what Christina’s ex is reacting. An insider has reportedly revealed how Tarek El Moussa is feeling after the unfortunate couple called it quits.
What did Christina Anstead say about the split?
Christina and Ant wed back in December 2018 in an intimate ceremony in Newport Beach, California, where the couple resides. The pair welcomed a baby in September 2019 and had showcased their marriage life on Christina on the Coast. The home renovation show is not focused on the couple’s life but certain aspects of their relationship did make it on.
Both reality TV personalities seemed to be having a dream life working on their projects. That is why news of their separation was a blindside to their followers.
“Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” Christina posted on Instagram. “We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority. We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future.”
What does Tarek El Moussa think?
El Moussa is still a big part of Christina’s life as he shares custody of their two children together and they also continue to star in Flip or Flop. When news broke of the split between Christina and Ant, the immediate reaction was to ask about her ex-husband.
“He’s not going to ask nor does he care what happened with Ant and he’ll be there to support the kids with the transition,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “He and Ant actually got along pretty well and he liked the guy.”
The source also said that El Moussa and Christina don’t really talk about their personal lives and stick to talking about their kids. El Moussa recently got engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young and are planning their wedding.

Since announcing the split, old posts from the Anstead’s have resurfaced trying to pinpoint what led to their separation. The most recent photo Christina has with Ant dates back to July 28 of this year. They are both seen eating out with a couple of friends.
“When your fave restaurant moves into the parking lot but the view and food are still on point,” Christina posted.
In early July, Ant shared a sweet post dedicated to his wife Christina in celebration of her birthday.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my best friend! My beautiful and brilliant wifey,” he posted.
Later on in the post he added, “I have concluded you are a SUPERHUMAN! A daily hero who does so much for our family, I lose count! You are a miracle! And I am blessed and lucky to share every moment with you.”
Christina started shooting a new season of Christina on the Coast and it has not been disclosed if she will address her separation on the show. The new episodes of the HGTV program will air at the beginning of 2021.
