Actress Olivia Williams relaxes during break between filming scenes

It’s Camilla in trainers! Actress Olivia Williams relaxes during break between filming scenes as future Duchess of Cornwall for new series of The Crown

  • Olivia Williams is the spitting image of Camilla Parker Bowles for The Crown
  • Dressed in a long green coat, she bore an uncanny likeness to the future Queen
  • The actress has replaced Emerald Fennell who played Camilla in seasons 3 and 4
  • She is among a wealth of new names joining Netflix’s The Crown for series five

The young Camilla Parker Bowles was not particularly known for clutching coffee cups and smartphones in trendy trainers.

But modern trappings aside, Olivia Williams was the spitting image of the future Duchess of Cornwall, as she sported Camilla’s signature bob cut and fringe on the set of the next series of Netflix drama The Crown.

Miss Williams, 53, bore an uncanny likeness to the future Queen Consort, dressed in a long green coat over a fitted dress featuring button detailing and structured shoulders.

The actress has replaced Emerald Fennell, who played Camilla in seasons three and four. Miss Williams previously met the duchess at the Man Booker Prize dinner in 2017.

She is among a wealth of new names joining the drama for series five, which airs in November and focuses on the split of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, played by Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki.

How the timeline will be split between the final two seasons is unclear, but it is expected to stretch from the early 1990s to the early 2000s.

The fire at Windsor in 1992 is expected to feature, as is Martin Bashir’s controversial Panorama interview with Diana.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s split in 1992 may also be covered, as could Princess Anne’s divorce in the same year.

The deaths of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother in 2002 may also be addressed.

Miss Williams joins Imelda Staunton as the Queen, Jonathan Pryce as the Duke of Edinburgh and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret for the new series.

The actress, who had a mass removed from her pancreas in 2018, has previously starred alongside Carey Mulligan in An Education, Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins in Oscar-nominated film The Father, as well as TV shows including The Nevers and ITV period drama, The Halcyon.

She is married to US actor and stage star Rhashan Stone, 52. The couple share two daughters.
