This upcoming Netflix series seriously has us on the edge of our seats. This very dark comedy seems like it would be quite the wild ride. It’s also interesting to see Jonah Hill and Emma Stone on the screen together after so many years. Maniac will follow the story of two very different individuals, a girl who seems to just be floating through life without much passion and then a guy who has been spoiled but still thinks he has struggles. They come together through a medical test trial for a treatment that banishes any past issues with mental health.
It should be quite interesting to see how they turn this into a dark comedy and how they speak about these very important issues. It isn’t easy speaking about mental health, let alone making a show that discusses it and even focuses on the theme. Either way we’ll be looking into this show and we’ll be talking about some of the great aspects that will get everyone excited to binge watch it with us!

The original idea that was the inspiration for the show was actually quite interesting. This show was actually inspired by a comedy series from Norway. One of the biggest things that made this show stand out was the fact that the story was told from different perspectives. While it’s not clear if it’s the same plot for the new version of the show, it should be interesting if they keep it on a similar path.

Jonah Hill and Emma Stone haven’t worked together in such a long time; it’s almost like two worlds coming together again. They seriously have their hands full with this cast, which makes us even more excited to see how the show turns out, because we have a good feeling that it will be a classic the moment it drops. This could also mean that Jonah Hill is branching out to TV and maybe we could expect to see new things from him in the future after the show is released!

He is a very memorable director and has built a reputation for talent and pure skill when it comes to TV directing. We‘re so happy to see him back in action with this dark comedy and we can’t wait to see how well this Netflix original turns out. Maybe this will mean he will start to feel comfortable stepping back into his career from now on.
15 Fukunaga Won An Emmy For His Work On True Detective
One more thing to note about Fukunaga is that he has even won an Emmy for his amazing directing for the show True Detective. This raises our hopes for this dark comedy series. Fukunaga has some serious skill and it’s so great he’s finally finding his passion again, and it will also be interesting to see how he captures the dark humor that will be in this show since it’s unlike many of the other projects he’s been known for.
14 Even The Writer Has A Great Reputation
Not only does the director have some serious experience under his belt, but so does the writer for the show. Patrick Somerville is the writer for this upcoming Netflix show and he actually wrote all ten of the episodes. While this writer is somewhat new to the world of screenwriting, people seem to be very happy with his work. We can’t wait to see if this project will push him more towards TV screenwriting than ever before!
