Wendy Williams’ Son Is ‘Huge Priority’ in Her Life Amid Divorce

Getting better for her boy. Wendy Williams is focused on her 18-year-old son, Kevin Jr., after the talk show host filed for divorce on April 10.

After splitting from her husband of nearly 22 years, Kevin Hunter, the Wendy Williams Show host, 54, announced that she was a few days away from “moving out of the sober house” she had been staying in.

Now, “a huge priority in her life” is staying healthy for her son, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively in the new issue. “[He’s] a reason to remain sober.”

The Wendy’s Got the Heat author, whose “attitude is good,” revealed on her show last month that she wasn’t living at home.

“You know Kevin and I have The Hunter Foundation for the good of the people. We recently launched our 888-5-HUNTER number for those of you caught up in the struggle of addiction,” the Fox personality announced at the time. “Well, for some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house.”

Since Williams filed for divorce, her staff members have felt a sense of relief on set, another source told Us exclusively.

“It’s like a weight lifted off everyone’s shoulders,” the insider said. “Kevin’s toxicity was dragging everyone down. … While the future is somewhat unclear, what is clear is that Wendy has a huge support system comprised of her staff, industry colleagues and family.”

Hunter, 46, was fired from his ex-wife’s show, where he served as an executive producer and Williams’ manager, on Thursday, April 18.
