We Can't Stop Laughing at Kate Hudson’s Birthday Tribute to Her Son

Kate Hudson’s son Ryder turned 19 on Saturday, and her Instagram post marking his birthday has all the special hallmarks of a parent celebrating their child: sweet family photos, a moving tribute, and a declaration of love.

“Your birth changed all of our lives forever and has brought so much joy and laughter daily,” said the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actor. “Love you infinity x infinity x 3 trillion cubed.”

But what we love just as much as the picture-perfect moments are the hilarious videos Hudson shared. In one, Ryder does a plié during their mother-son workout. In another (that we’ve watched way too many times) we see the guitar player and fashion company co-founder do his spot-on Harry Styles impression.

Ryder wears a jacket over a bare chest (a signature look for Styles), and lowers his glasses as he moves toward a “fan” in the crowd (we think it’s his little sister Rani giggling in the background).

“What does your sign say, love?” he asked in an English accent.

He starts to read a sign to himself, just like the singer who is known for interacting with fans during shows. This poster supposedly asks if he, “Harry,” will have this adoring fan’s baby. He gives a coy scoff before answering.

“Of course I will because I’m f*ckin’ Harry Styles … innit,” Ryder said with an added dash of English flair.

Hey Lorne Michaels, if Saturday Night Live needs a Harry Styles impersonator in a pinch, you’ve got one living right around the corner!

This birthday is extra special since this past holiday season was the first time Ryder came home since starting college at New York University in the fall. During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers before the holidays, Hudson said Ryder would be the headliner for Christmas.

“This Christmas is like, it’s a thing,” she told Meyers. “Ryder coming home is the big [thing].”

Of course, it’s not just the siblings and cousins who are excited to have Ryder home. Hudson is also thrilled, but she is trying to play it cool and not be “that mom.”

But she was “that mom” (as she should be!). The final video in the birthday post is a video of Hudson and her three kids, Ryder, Bing, and Rani, sitting in the car.

“Happy mommy, ha-ha-happy mom, got all my babies I’m a ha-ha-happy mommy because this baby came back so I’m a happy mama,” she sings as she points to the trio.

Reese Witherspoon commented on the post saying Happy Happy Mommy is her “new fav song,” and we couldn’t agree more.
