Walmart's Latest Celeb Partners May Surprise You

This week, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell — and Walmart — launched Hello Bello — a (mostly) organic botanical-based baby care collection. Are you as psyched as we are?

A Walmart news statement says the line has been “designed to give every parent access to high-quality, better-priced everyday essentials that are better for babies, budgets and the planet.” Sweet. Not complaining on our end.

“As a mom of two, I know how beautifully messy parenthood can be, and that’s why we created Hello Bello — a line of premium, super-effective baby care products to take care of your kids from head-to-butt-to-toe,” Bell said via the Walmart statement. “Our products are fresh and fun. More importantly, we use plant-based ingredients and organic botanicals that are better for our kids and better for our world.”

So just how big is this line to start? Well, Hello Bello is launching with 10 products, with the price point of the majority of items coming in under $8. Not bad. Products will include diapers, body wash and shampoo, bubble bath, lotion, wipes, rash cream, mineral sunscreen, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent and — whew — bug repellent.

Bell and Shepard were eager to work with Walmart, with Bell highlighting the company’s accessibility, according to WWD.

“People go to Walmart,” said Bell. “It is the accessibility center — we grew up in Detroit and have family in Ohio and Oregon. It’s a one-stop-shop. As a working parent, you don’t have time to seek out the fun boutiques in your area to shop for your children.”

“It occurred to us that it’s really unfair that most of the organic, plant-based products that are good to the planet aren’t cheap and they’re not available for everyone all around the country,” added Shepard, as reported by WWD.

Bell recently teased that something was on the horizon for the two on her Instagram feed.

Walmart’s statement said the brand has a “friendly, inclusive ethos” — one that Bell and Shepard say echoes their own highly relatable and “imperfect” parenting.

According to WWD, Bell and Shepard have both been very busy with the brand’s launch, with Bell collaborating on formulations and Shepard writing and tweaking content.

Yup, expect some seriously super-cute marketing from this brand. We’re praying for at least one Walmart-sponsored interpretive lip-synch from Bell and Shepard.
