There Is a Theory That Meghan Markle’s Straight Hair Means She’s Pregnant

Tressed to throw off the public? Duchess Meghan typically wears her hair in loose waves or messy buns. But on Monday, September 24, the 37-year-old ditched her signature look for a pin-straight blowout — and one magazine writer thinks it’s a sign she’s with child.

“Because I am a journalist and I care about these things, I combed through 60+ pages of the latest pictures of Meghan and found that she hasn’t worn her hair like this since at least before her wedding to Prince Harry,” wrote Cosmpolitan’s Emma Baty in a story published on Monday. According to Baty, the Duchess wants to take the attention off of her belly.

In the piece, Baty wondered if the Suits alum could possibly be taking a cue from her sister-in-law Duchess Kate. Kate, 36, debuted a new chop in September 2017, just days before Kensington Palace announced that she and Prince William were expecting Prince Louis. With Princess Charlotte, she had gray roots. A week prior to revealing her Prince George pregnancy, Kate got bangs.

Kate Proctor of the U.K.’s Evening Standard was first to suggest that Kate used her hair to conceal pregnancies. “Pattern is Duchess of Cambridge changes her hairstyle, people concentrate on her head, then announces pregnancy,” Proctor wrote on Twitter in September 2017.

Though Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, 34, who tied the knot in May, have both been open about their desire to have kids, there is no baby on board just yet.

“Meghan and Harry have a busy rest of the year,” a source close to Kensington Palace told Us Weekly earlier this month. “They are excited to start a family but have always wanted to focus the first year of marriage on their official work and starting to bring awareness to causes close to them. That is their main focus before starting a family.”
