A subtle response? Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson removed a photo of his 3-year-old daughter, Jasmine, from Instagram after facing backlash.
In the pic posted earlier this week, the actor, 47, stood in a swimming pool with his arms out to catch the toddler. The little one was at the edge of the water without a bathing suit.
While some of the Rampage star’s followers gushed over the sweet father-daughter moment, many had a problem with the upload. “As a mother to [a] female human, please cover her nakedness on media platforms,” one wrote, while another asked, “Why would you expose a young child’s body to millions of people?”
On the other hand, one Instagram user commented, “Those who are sexualizing this picture of his daughter because she is swimming with no clothes on obviously don’t know what it’s like to grow up in the islands or in a Polynesian household. This is very normal and not sexual in any way with our culture.”
This isn’t the first time the wrestler has been blasted by the parenting police. When he and his girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, welcomed their second daughter, Gia, in July 2018, Johnson was criticized for taking a shirtless selfie at the hospital with his infant.
One Twitter user joked: “Nurse: Would you like to hold your new baby? @TheRock: Hold on, let me take my shirt off.”
The former professional football player responded to the hater at the time, writing, “Good one! Buuuuut one day when you have babies Allison you’ll understand the power of skin to skin.”
The California native also shares Simone, 17, with his ex-wife, Dany García. The teenager graduated last month and Johnson honored her with an Instagram tribute.
“And then your babies graduate,” he captioned the upload, which featured two father-daughter photos. Simone was all smiles in the first, wearing a blue cap and gown, but pulled away from her dad’s embrace in the second. “Very proud of my first daughter daughter graduating high school, kickin’ ass and is now NYU bound. I love you and one day you’ll stop pulling away from my beastly arms & kisses.”
