The current health crisis is forcing another retailer to close most of its doors. According to a press release, The Children’s Place is targeting to close 300 locations by 2021. The good news for you? A huge summer sale is happening right now — more on that later.
Like many brick-and-mortar stores, the kid’s clothing retailer (which is part of the Gymboree family) has been hit hard by COVID-19 with net sales down about 38% in the first quarter this year. As a result, it’s shutting more retail stores and focusing on its online storefronts. However, some stores will remain, but the press release states that they will only make up less than a quarter of the retailer’s revenue portfolio in their fiscal 2022 year.
You’ve probably been mostly shopping online, even pre-pandemic, so it really shouldn’t change much in your shopping habits really. While it’s certainly sad news with so many stores and restaurants closing during the pandemic, the plus side is that The Children’s Place is offering a massive sale right now with up to 80-percent off summer-ready styles, so it’s time to get that credit card out ASAP.
To no surprise, the current health crisis has taken a toll on many retailers, so it’s expected that we’ll see more and more of these sales happening in the future. To get you started on your shopping haul, we’ve rounded up some cute picks — many under $5! —to get your little one dressed for summer for a fraction of the cost. We don’t know how long these deals will last, so don’t hesitate to add some fun finds to your cart.
