Sonic Reveals Their Newest Dessert Menu Item — Fried Oreo à La Mode!

Get ready, Sonic lovers because you’re in for a sweet surprise!

Earlier this week, Sonic announced that they will be adding a new item to their dessert menu. Beginning on Jan. 29, the fast-food chain will offer Fried Oreo à La Mode at participating restaurants for a limited time.

According to a news release obtained by Bustle, the item is made with Oreo cookies that are “perfectly battered and fried to create a delectably crunchy and dippable treat.”

To make things even better, the warm, crispy, golden Oreos will be served with Sonic’s vanilla soft-serve ice cream.

But that’s not all! Sonic also has plans to collaborate with Cinnabon for Cinnasnacks à La Mode. Like the Oreos, the “warm, buttery pastries filled with melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon roll filling” are fried to a crisp and served with ice cream.

Each individual order comes with three fried treats and will be sold for $2.99, according to Best Products.

The news of the sweet treats comes after Sonic rolled out pickle juice slushes over the summer.

“It’s surprisingly delicious (and makes a good accompaniment to burgers and/or tots and/or corn dogs)” Food & Wine’s Maria Yagoda wrote. “Sweet and tangy, the bright brine compensates for the over-savoriness you might have been worried about.”

A few months later, in October, the fast-food chain gave fans and first-timers alike a major incentive to stop by one of their drive-in locations, selling their fried mozzarella sticks for only 99 cents at participating locations.

They announced the news on Twitter, letting fans vote on their favorite mozzarella stick dipping sauce, offering marinara and ranch as options while neglecting to acknowledge the correct answer, which was, of course, “both.”

That same month, Sonic also unveiled their newest menu item, the Double Stuf Oreo Waffle Cone. The treat consisted of a chocolate waffle cone filled with layers of Oreo creme, vanilla ice cream, and was topped with Oreo cookie crumbles.
