Sugar, spice and everything nice. Shenae Grimes-Beech and her husband, Josh Beech, welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, on Thursday, September 27, the actresses’ rep confirmed to People.
“We couldn’t be happier to welcome beautiful baby girl Beech into the world,” the couple told the publication of their newborn, who weighed in at 6 lbs., 12 oz.
The 90210 alum, 28, announced her pregnancy in May. “It wasn’t totally planned but we decided to let the fates determine when the timing was right for us to [hop] on this ride of a lifetime and evidently, they thought the time was now and I couldn’t agree more,” she wrote on her website, Lost in Lala, at the time. “We have so much love and laughter in our house that in a way, it’d feel selfish not to share it with another little human.”
Grimes-Beech revealed in the same post that she was expecting a baby girl: “Obviously we would have been happy with any gender and have just been praying for good health but because I know how special my relationship with my mama and her relationship with her mama are, I was elated to be able to carry on that bond for another generation.”
The actress told Us Weekly exclusively shortly after she debuted her baby bump that she turned to a familiar face for parenting advice. “Matt Lanter’s wife [Angela],” she shared when asked who answered her expectant mother questions. “I bumped into her not that long ago, and they just had a little girl. I’m like, ‘I’m having one too!’ And so I’m really tapping into her a lot.”
She and Beech, 31, had already decided on a name for their daughter but didn’t want to jinx it. “I think we’re settled on one,” Grimes-Beech said at the time, “but I was actually just saying, I don’t want to say it out loud because I feel like you could meet them and then all of a sudden like, ‘Whoa! No! That’s not your name! That does not work!’”
The Degrassi alum flaunted her growing bump in August when she hung out in a bikini with 90210 costar AnnaLynne McCord. She captioned their Instagram photos: “Buddha and Barbie.”
