Shawn Johnson Reveals Weird Pregnancy Aversion: ‘It’s the Devil!’

The joys of future motherhood. Shawn Johnson is opening up about her weird pregnancy aversion in the new issue of Us Weekly — and it’s not anything she would’ve anticipated.

The expectant mother, 27, who previously suffered a miscarriage, says “everything is looking good” this time around — except her “roller-coaster” appetite.

“Avocado is usually my lifeline and now it’s the devil!” she exclusively jokes to Us.

Despite the setbacks, the Olympian and her husband, Andrew East, are over the moon. “We’re very excited,” Johnson reveals. “We’ve been wanting to start a family.”

Still, the couple, who wed in 2016, are remaining “cautious” and taking the pregnancy “day by day,” as the miscarriage made the Dancing With the Stars season 8 winner “more anxious, naturally,” she admits.

The soon-to-be parents announced that they’re expecting on April 4 via Instagram. “We cannot WAIT to welcome you to the world and shower you with love,” the Olympian wrote at the time. “@andrewdeast WE DID IT!”

In the announcement photo, the mom-to-be cradled her bump in a floral dress while the professional football player, also 27, pointed to it with a smile.

The Washington Redskins player also posted a note on his personal social media page, writing, “Coming 2019 @thebabyeast.” In the accompanying video, a camera panned up from the pair’s feet, revealing Johnson’s budding belly, a pair of tiny white sneakers and their matching smiles.

The Winning Balance author and her love revealed that they had suffered a miscarriage in October 2017, a year and a half after the tied the knot.

“The past 48 hours have been some of the happiest, scariest, and saddest times of my life,” Johnson captioned a YouTube video at the time. “My husband Andrew and I found out that we were unexpectedly pregnant, only to find out hours later some tragic news. I have been crying more than I ever have, but am still optimistic for what is next.”
