Shawn Johnson and Andrew East, the couple who have shared the highs and lows of their pregnancy journey on social media, are extremely close to welcoming their first child together.

Baby East is due Oct. 23.

The former Olympic gymnast shared a throwback picture of the couple and a bittersweet message on Instagram Monday recalling their pregnancy loss. “2 years ago today our world was turned upside down when we lost our first pregnancy…,” Johnson wrote.

The caption also looked forward to their impending baby’s arrival: “2 years later we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our rainbow baby,” she said. A rainbow baby is a baby born after a miscarriage. “Baby East, we can’t wait to meet you and pray for your safe delivery and arrival into our arms.”

Johnson, 27, continued with a shout out to her husband.

“@andrewdeast thank you for being my rock through it all. You’re going to be the greatest daddy ever.”

The couple learned after a 20-week ultrasound in July that the baby’s kidneys “were really dilated, underdeveloped, but dilated, so retaining a bunch of fluid.”

Johnson also discovered that she had a two-vessel umbilical cord, which only happens in about 1 in 100 pregnancies, according to the March of Dimes. (Most umbilical cords have three vessels: two arteries and one vein.) The couple feared a chromosomal issue, but the results came back negative.

Lately, the couple have been documenting Johnson’s growing belly, including on Sunday in which the mama-to-be was “squatting.”

“I’ve been told it might help kick this little one out!” Johnson captioned an Instagram photo. “I WANT TO MEET YOU!”

Johnson said after the miscarriage both her and East, 28, got serious about having children.

“It was a surprise for both of us and we ended up losing that pregnancy, that was my miscarriage,” she said on the Oct. 20 episode of “Miraculous Mamas” hosted by Elizabeth Joy. “And we both kind of had this switch flip and it was a rude awakening of like, ‘Holy crap! We’re going to have a kid and then all of the sudden we are ready to have a kid and we want nothing else.'”
