Sometimes the right baby names are just meant to be. Like when Christina Ricci’s husband Mark Hampton wrote “Cleopatra” on their baby girl’s birth certificate before she ever agreed to it. It turns out, Rumer Willis’ boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas accidentally influenced their daughter Louetta’s name, too, which the model calls “divine intervention.” The story is just too cute!

It All Came Down to a Typo
The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood actress detailed the fated typo that influenced her daughter’s name in a new interview with PEOPLE.
“We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo. Her dad and I were texting, and he left the ‘R’ out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta,” Willis said. “I was like, ‘Oh, I love that!’”
She went on, “I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy.” How cool is that? Sometimes, fate intervenes and you know it was just meant to be!

It’s Scary Picking a Name!
But despite initially falling in love with the name Louetta, Willis worried that it might not be the right choice. (Don’t we all spend some time thinking this when expecting?)
“What was scary was, I love this name, but oh man, is it going to be her name? Is it the right name? What if she comes out and doesn’t look like this?” Willis told the outlet. It’s a lot of pressure choosing a baby name! Ultimately, Willis and Thomas decided to go for it.
“I fell in love with the name so much, so early on, that I was then worried that it wouldn’t work,” she continued. “But then she came out, and I mean, to me, at least right now, I was going to name her Lou, whether she was a boy or a girl.”
Willis also liked how her daughter would be able to go by different nicknames as she got older. “I wanted to find something that had a lot of versatility,” she explained. “If she doesn’t feel like a Louetta, she can go by Lou, she can go by Etta. She can go change it up throughout her life. Whatever she wants.”

She Is ‘More Comfortable’ & ‘More Confident’ as a Mom
Earlier this week, the Sorority Row star celebrated her 35th birthday with an intimate breastfeeding selfie with Louetta.
“✨This is 35 ✨ ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ Ridiculously Sunburnt and Feeding my Lou,” she captioned the post. Willis also wrote about how different her life is now compared to last year.
“Last year on my birthday I had just found out I was pregnant with Lou and I was so tired and kinda nauseous and I hadn’t really told anyone,” she wrote. “So many new sensations and changes going on within me. I was nervous and excited and felt so many tiny little butterflies in my belly and in deep wondering of who this little soul may be.”
Now that her daughter is here, Willis feels like “every birthday wish I have ever had has come true ten fold.” How sweet is that?!
“This past year has come with so much growth, so many challenges and fears to overcome but right along side more joy than I could ever imagine,” she contined. “I truly learned what it is to surrender into the deepest core of myself and find a strength and a primal power I didn’t know I had.”
She also opened up about feeling more comfortable in her body. “This new version of me is someone I love more than I ever thought I could. I feel more comfortable in my skin,” Willis wrote. “More confident than I ever imagined. I have known for so many years that being a mother would bring me into alignment with a divine purpose I have always felt and to known that my intuition was right has given me a trust within myself that I am so deeply grateful for.”
She is now committed to letting go of anything that is “no longer serving my or my duaghters highest good.” Sounds like the perfect plan!
