Royal Baby's Birth Certificate Reveals Where Duchess Meghan Gave Birth

There it is! Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s son’s birth certificate was released on Friday, May 17, revealing Archie’s birthplace.

The little one was born at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster, according to the document.

The Duke, 34, and Duchess of Sussex, 37, revealed that their son had arrived on May 6. “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019,” the pair wrote on Instagram at the time. “Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”

Harry gushed about his son later that day, telling members of the press, “As every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”

When his wife first spoke about her baby boy on May 8, she revealed, “He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.”

The day after Archie’s birth, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that the former actress had welcomed her first royal baby in a hospital, instead of delivering the newborn in her home, Frogmore Cottage.

Prior to his arrival, the Suits alum and Harry revealed they wouldn’t be sharing their birth plans with the public.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” an April statement from Buckingham Palace read. “Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The duke and duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Meghan and Harry wed in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018. They announced that they were expecting their first child five months after their nuptials.
