'RHOC's' Heather Dubrow Says Intermittent Fasting Is For 'Skinny, Tired People'

What’s the first thing that pops into your mind when you hear “intermittent fasting”?

For Heather Dubrow, former star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, “it sounds like skinny, tired people.” Instead, she’s all about “interval eating” in her new book The Dubrow Diet, which she co-authored with her husband, Terry Dubrow, M.D., a plastic surgeon on the E! TV show Botched.

Heather talked about her new book, which came out on Tuesday, on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. (You might remember that Savannah Guthrie also chatted with Andy about her time on the keto diet).

According to Heather, the idea behind “interval eating” is that “you can choose when you are going to do your eating periods and your non-eating periods,” she said. “And it’s not only gonna take you to your goal weight, it’s gonna make your skin tighter, it’s gonna make your hair grow—it’s gonna give you energy. This is the plan for your life.” (TBH, that sounds kind of like intermittent fasting to me, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt ’til I get my paws on that book.)

Unfortunately Heather didn’t really go into details about what exactly “interval eating” means. She did, however, tell Andy that she eats every day on the diet (um, good)—and that you’re encouraged to eat on the diet (even better!).

Heather and Terry also showed up on the Dr. Phil show to plug their new book. Another, uh, “bonus” to the plan—”You have no appetite on this diet,” Terry said…which doesn’t sound like a ton of fun to me, but to each his own.
