Putting the Kids First! Celebs Who Crush Coparenting

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have different ideas about how to raise kids. But the former couple prioritize coparenting for the sake of their children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel.

“You have to be on the same page. You have to cooperate,” the Batman actor explained to Today.com in November 2017. “If you recognize that you both have the best interest of the kids at heart, it’s quite a special connection. We’re the only two people in the world who care this much about these three kids.”

Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko

Though their decade-long relationship ended in 2018, the Nashville alum and former pro boxer coparent like pros. “We’re still respectful of each other, and we still have that friendship with each other,” Panettiere admitted to Us Weekly exclusively in January 2019. “It’s not a situation that you find yourself in all that often, so it’s a new one. But I think we’ve done a really good job.” The actress and her ex-fiancé welcomed their daughter, Kaya, in 2014.

Ben Affleck revealed in 2017 that he and ex-wife Jennifer Garner “don’t always agree” on parenting — she’s strict about phones and computer use, he’s not — but they have learned to work through their differences. “You have to be on the same page. You have to cooperate,” the Batman actor told Today. “We’re the only two people in the world who care this much about these three kids.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

Back in 2014, Gwyneth Paltrow famously explained that she was “consciously uncoupling” from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin after 10 years of marriage. Since then, the former pair — who share Apple and Moses — have been the gold standard for coparenting. “He’s really like my brother. We’re very familiar. It’s nice,” the GOOP founder gushed during a January 2018 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “I think we genuinely wanted our kids to be as unscathed as possible. And we thought, if we could really maintain the family even though we weren’t a couple, that was kind of the goal. So that’s what we’ve tried to do.”
