Mercedes “MJ” Javid was worried that pregnancy would turn her into a monster. “I thought I would be psycho and hormonal,” the Shahs of Sunset star, 45, told Us Weekly at the Make a Wish Gala in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, October 24. “I’m happy to report that it’s been easy. So far, so good!”
Us exclusively confirmed on October 4 that the Bravo star and her husband, Tommy Feight, are expecting their first child after undergoing IVF.
“Tommy has been incredibly attentive,” the Persian entrepreneur told Us. “At 3 o’clock in the morning, ‘Can I have watermelon?’ Even if we don’t have any watermelon, he’ll go and find some.”
The couple, who met on Tinder in 2015 and tied the knot in April, are due to welcome their baby boy on May 12 — Mother’s Day! “We do happen to have the name,” Javid told Us. “And the name is actually unisex. We’re holding onto that.”
The real estate agent opened up to Us in July about freezing her eggs before she married her longtime boyfriend. “I really want all women who are single and 35 years old to run to their fertility doctors and get it done,” she declared. “I just think it’s really awful to wait and put it off until you’re over 40 because you’re just making it harder for yourself.”
Javid previously shared her pregnancy news with the Shahs of Sunset cast while filming the reunion earlier this month. But the taping wasn’t all celebration. “There’s definitely some good stuff that happens,” she teased on Wednesday. “Hopefully we’re all gonna get better and stronger from it. But I’m not gonna lie, there are some relationships that will never be the same.”
