Serena Williams has been dancing through her pregnancy with baby number two, and yesterday, she revealed a new reason to celebrate: she found out the sex of her baby on the way! The 23-time Grand Slam Champion hosted a spectacular sex reveal party for her second baby with husband Alexis Ohanian, and their 5-year-old daughter Olympia’s reaction was everything!

First, she teased fans with a mini video.”Big reveal coming soon to my YouTube channel. What do you think I’m having? Drop your guess below ⬇️ 💙💖” she wrote on Instagram.

Then she posted a picture on Instagram directing fans to her YouTube for the big reveal. “The big REVEAL is now live on YouTube! Did you guess right? 🔗 in bio..” she wrote alongside two family photos. Ohanian wears an X-Men tank top and black shorts as he stands next to a huge rainbow balloon arch that says “Olympia’s Splash Village.” Williams is dressed in a white crop top with a pink-and-white skirt, and Olympia is in a light pink dress on the floor. The mother-and-daughter duo are giving a major hint with their outfits — they’re having a baby girl!

They also posted the big reveal on YouTube. The couple hosted a big party that began with a cake-cutting and ended with a dazzling drone show to reveal the exciting news.

Serena Williams Was ‘Team Pink’
Image Credit: Taylor Hill/Getty Images “We are going to the baby shower/gender reveal, so obviously I’m Team Pink,” Williams says in the video. “But I’m nervous because I don’t have any contingency plan if it turns out to be a boy.”
Olympia was super excited. In fact, she was “yelling” at her mom because “she was ready to go, like, an hour ago.” She is such an excited big sister!
The video also shows the party decked out in rainbow balloons, which says “Our Next Great Adventure.” She also had a gorgeous pastel blue-and-pink cake covered in rainbows, stars, clouds, and hearts. There was a splash village for Olympia and the kids, food trucks for the guests, and rainbow blankets on the lawn. They even had a dance party (because of course!).

The Big Prank
Image Credit: Michael Buckner/Variety via Getty Images When it came time for the big reveal, Ohanian grabbed a microphone and said, “Serena, my love, it’s time to see if we’re having a boy or girl.” They cut the cake and the camera cuts to a quick note from Ohanian that was filmed before. He tells the camera that the inside of the cake is yellow. “I’m doing this because I want to troll her and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal of Jelly Bean. She will cut into this cake, probably be disappointed, and hopefully, hopefully, appreciate my troll.” Ohh, that’s risky business messing with a pregnant woman!
The camera cuts back to the actual moment, and Williams looks totally confused. Williams then puts the slice of yellow cake on the plate and walks over to Ohanian as if to push it in his face. Honestly, he would deserve it! Even her sister, Venus Williams, was shocked. You can see her in the background with her mouth hanging open at the trick.
Luckily, Ohanian made up for the moment quickly. He told the guests to “draw your attention to the heavens.” With one camera on the sky and one on the family you can see the drone’s light up “It’s a Girl” as Williams smiles and Olympia cheers. Olympia is shaking and hugging her dad, so excited to have a baby sister on the way, and Williams has the biggest smile on her face too, with both her arms in the air to cheer and clap. She knows the power of sisters better than anyone, and this is such a sweet moment.

Ohanian shared a behind-the-scenes video of the drone show announcement on his Instagram, writing, “You know I had to go above & beyond with the reveal. ✨💪 We’re all so excited to meet you, Jellybean — especially @olympiaohanian!”
