Pregnant Duchess Meghan Is Getting Bashed for Something All Moms Do

Khloe Kardashian got shamed for cradling her bump when she was pregnant with True. Now, it’s Duchess Meghan’s turn. The royal, who is expecting a baby with her husband, Prince Harry, was mocked on Twitter after she attended the Fashion Awards in London on Monday, December 10.

“If I see one more photo of Meghan Markle cradling that bump I am going to vomit. I swear she and Beyoncé think they are the only women in the world to get pregnant. You are pregnant……WE KNOW!” wrote one critic. Added another: “She should learn from Kate on how to pose regally when pregnant. Both hands discretely under the bump. Not cradling like Demi Moore.”

A third wondered, “Is she afraid the baby is going to fall out?” Many commenters alluded to the Los Angeles native’s stint on the USA Network drama Suits. “Seriously, no pregnant person poses for a photo like this ever.” snipped a troll. “She’s such an actress.”

Of course, plenty of fans came to the 37-year-old’s defense. As one supporter wrote: “What? Why do people (mostly women) get upset about this? Nearly every pregnant woman does it. It’s not harming anyone. She’s happy to be a mom. Cradle those bumps, mamas! There’s even an emoji for you!” Echoed another person: “That’s what all pregnant women do!!! Cradle that bump Meggie, cradle it!”

Though Meghan has not responded to her haters, a then-pregnant Kardashian fired back in February, when she was shamed for the way she held her tummy.

“People are very opinionated about my bump. I choose to cradle my bump because it’s MINE,” she wrote on Twitter at the time. “I’ve waited for this VERY short moment for YEARS. I have only months to enjoy this phase in my life, so I will touch my bump and love my bump as often as I choose. Mommy loves you baby!”

Megan and Harry, 34, tied the knot in May. Five months later, the couple announced they are expecting their first child together in the spring.

“She is due on or around May 2nd,” a royal insider told Us Weekly in October. There’s a good chance she could share a birthday with Prince William and Duchess Kate’s 3-year-old daughter Charlotte!
