Pregnant Amy Schumer: 'I Look Forward to Competing With’ Pregnant Duchess Meghan

Will her baby inherit her sense of humor? Shortly after Amy Schumer announced she and husband Chris Fischer are expecting their first child together, the I Feel Pretty star joked about giving pregnant Duchess Meghan a run for her money during their journeys to motherhood.

“Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he’s the father,” the 37-year-old comedian quipped to the Los Angeles Times on Monday, October 22. “I look forward to competing with [Meghan] Markle every step of the way.” (The royal, also 37, announced on October 15 that she is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry.)

The Trainwreck actress shared the exciting news of her and Fischer’s growing brood with fans via former CNN White House correspondent Jessica Yellin’s Instagram page earlier that same day.

“About to announce some exciting news on @jessicayellin insta page. Please follow her for up to the minute #newsnotnoise she breaks down what’s really going on,” Schumer wrote alongside a picture that showed her and her 38-year-old husband’s face Photoshopped on a pic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. “She agreed to post a lil noise today for me! Follow her and VOTE!!”

Underneath Yellin’s lengthy Story that notes Schumer’s political picks for the upcoming midterm election, she simply wrote, “I’m pregnant — Amy Schumer.”

Yellin, 47, captioned the next Story of Schumer, “Congrats!” adding the hashtag #Sister.

Schumer and the celebrity chef’s happy news comes just eight months after the pair tied the knot in a surprise Malibu ceremony in February. The two — who dated for just months before saying “I do” — were joined by celebrity pals including Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, David Spade, Judd Apatow and Larry David.

“Most of the guests found out the wedding was happening from a text Amy sent [two days before],” a source told Us Weekly of their nuptials. “It was, ‘Hey, this is happening. If you can make it, great. If not, no worries.’”
