Pink's Daughter Wrote Her a Note Ahead of Walk of Fame Ceremony: 'Mama, This Is a Big Deal'

You’re never too young to understand the gravity of something as honorable as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — just ask Pink‘s 7½-year-old daughter, Willow Sage.

During a Wednesday visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the singer admitted that Tuesday’s ceremony was a bit difficult for her in that she “hate(s) compliments,” but her husband Carey Hart and their little girl went above and beyond to make her feel special and more comfortable.

“[Carey] brought in flowers yesterday and Willow wrote me a note that said, ‘Mama, this is a big deal. And I’m glad it’s you and not Justin Beaver,’ ” said Pink, 39.

“I was like, that is so random — how does she even know … I don’t know,” continued the entertainer and mother of two. “It was cute. I was like, ‘This must be a big deal.’ “

After confirming Willow did, in fact, say “Beaver” instead of “Bieber,” Ellen DeGeneres joked, “She’s, like, the only little girl who doesn’t know how to pronounce his name.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Pink brought her family — Willow, son Jameson Moon, 2, and her former motocross-star husband Hart, 43 — to accept one of the biggest honors in Hollywood: receiving her own star on the Walk of Fame. Pink’s star sits next to Jackie Chan‘s and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson‘s, reports Variety.

“This is surreal. It has been a trip lately thinking back over the course of this career I’ve somehow managed to have. I signed my first record deal 23 years ago … and I’m only 23½ so that’s crazy,” the singer-songwriter joked as she accepted the award.

She added, “Thank you to my fans — you guys make it matter. Thank you for coming. My husband — he’s so cute. He’s my muse and if he didn’t piss me off all the time I’d have not much to say. I wouldn’t be standing up here if it wasn’t for you. Never change. My children — you guys are my stars and I would never shine without you.”

DeGeneres supported the singer with a speech during the ceremony.

DeGeneres went on in Wednesday’s interview to tell her guest that even though she has a hard time accepting praise, she had to give her just a few more props.

“The thing about [Pink] is she’s obviously this amazing performer — if you’ve ever seen her in concert, she’s the most amazing performer,” she addressed the audience as the “What About Us” hitmaker pulled an uncomfortable face.

“But at the same time, she’s the most normal, grounded, amazing person,” continued DeGeneres, 61. “She can turn it on and be amazing and then just be a regular person.”

“I’m done,” the host concluded before Pink laughed and jokingly fell to the floor in a mock attempt at hiding out of embarrassment.
