Pink vs. mom-shamers: Here are the singer’s most epic take-downs of the parent police

Singer Pink has defended herself from her fair share of mom-shamers. These are her greatest clapbacks. (Photo: ENNIO LEANZA, EPA-EFE)

So what, mom-shamers—Pink is still a rock star.

Since welcoming Willow Sage, 8, and Jameson Moon, 2, the “Perfect” artist has confronted her fair share of trolls coming after her for the way she raises her kids.

Whether it’s attacking her for taking her children to the zoo or shaming her for (gasp!) having a family dinner night, haters have consistently tried to tear down the Grammy-winner. Eventually, Pink got so tired of it, she disabled her Instagram comments with a flurry of middle-finger emojis. She still won’t allow them on some pictures that feature her kids.

In honor of the her 40th birthday on Sep. 8, here are Pink’s best comebacks to the internet’s parent police.

That time she let loose on zoo-shamers

Who knew a trip to the zoo would get people so up in arms?

“I’m surprised you go to zoos,” one person commented on Pink’s Instagram photo of herself and son at a Hamburg, Germany zoo in July. “Animals shouldn’t be in captivity. If it was a sanctuary — that’d be different.”

Pink snapped back at the poster who racked up a few hundred likes.

“I believe in capturing a child’s interest and love for an animal before teaching them about things like captivity,” she wrote. “But thank you, the world needed your wisdom today.”

That time she dared to eat tacos

Pink wasn’t having it when a troll came to put down her family dinner night.

“At least twice a week on tour, we shut the door to the outside world and have family dinner,” she shared along with a photo of her smiling family on Instagram in March. “As you can see, it makes Jameson feel deep, deep joy. #lastedsevenminutes #gratitude #space #conversation #loosescrews”

Sweet, right? Not according to one hater, who commented “except it’s posted on ig.”

Pink clapped back.

“Yes I like to promote healthy stuff,” she replied and used colorful language to add that she also likes to remind people to stop being jerks. “Consider this your reminder.”

After getting the what-for, the commenter replied, “I was coming to see ya Sunday night in Nashville….still love the music.”

Pink, in the midst of her Beautiful Trauma tour, did not get the warm fuzzies, responding, “that doesn’t change my answer. That just makes you confused.”

That time she had Jessica Simpson’s back

Perhaps Pink’s fiercest clap back, however, wasn’t even to one of her own haters. When Jessica Simpson got backlash for letting her 7-year-old daughter Maxwell Drew add purple highlights to her long blonde locks, Pink backed her up.

“I heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven year old get her hair colored. So we thought we’d share what we did yesterday,” Pink wrote alongside an Instagram picture of the singer dyeing her daughter’s hair blue.

She added several hashtags like “blue hair don’t care,” “get your own kids” and “parent police are actually just lonely sad people.”

That time she tried to make peace

Put aside your bottle caps and buckets of ice water, Pink’s got an even harder viral challenge in mind.

“I’d like to propose a worldwide internet challenge to anyone reading this today,” she wrote on Instagram in August. “Go ONE day without criticizing someone online. Let’s call it the MISS ME WITH THE (expletive) CHALLENGE.”

Pink’s husband Carey Hart supported the idea.

“I think it’s a long shot, but I”m optimistic!!!” he tweeted.

I’d like to propose a worldwide internet challenge to anyone reading this today. Go ONE day without criticizing someone online. Let’s call it the MISS ME WITH THE BULLSHIT CHALLENGE. And if it feels good, hey, why not go TWO DAYS. But let’s start with one for the overzealous out there. #onedayatatime #onlylove

That time she defended her ‘children being children’

Pink’s parenting courted controversy yet again when she posted photos of her children running through a Holocaust memorial. Though many accused her of insensitivity, she defended her Instagram post as a “celebration of life.”

“Berlin, I love you,” she began the post. “And for all of the comments; these two children are in actuality Jewish, as am I and the entirety of my mothers (sic) family. The very person who constructed this believed in children being children, and to me this is a celebration of life after death. Please keep your hatred and judgment to yourselves.”

Actress Selma Blair came to Pink’s defense in the comments section, writing, “I love Berlin too. I love that what happened is not being forgotten. I love this celebration of life. I love you.”

That time she went after a critic of her hubby’s parenting

When Hart posted a photo with their son on his motor bike, the internet was not happy.

“I love your music, your kids are beautiful,” one person wrote on Pink’s Instagram, “but your husband, I’m sorry, lacks the responsibility your kids need in his care.”

Pink just wasn’t going to let that go.

“You sound well informed on the performance of my husband as a father,” she replied. “Answer me this: how often have you spent time with my husband? How often have you watched him parent? Do you know my children? Are you aware of their development?”

Pink went on to question her opponent’s “credentials in Parenting expertise”.

“Are you a perfect parent? (Expletive), are you even a parent?” she inquired. “These are bold statement from a social media spectator.”

“God bless your perfect path,” the singer said in conclusion. “I have no interest in that myself. However, do check in from time to time to let us all know what other teachings you may have for us, oh perfect (expletive) stranger.”

That time she wasn’t about to let trolls criticize her son

And last but not least, we have the incident that led Pink to shut off her Instagram comments.

After posting a photo of her kids with a pelican, Pink deleted the original post after a barrage of people criticized her for circumcising her son, who was pictured without a diaper.

Her reposted photo had scribble marks to shield Jameson’s nakedness.

“There’s something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there. Going off about my baby’s penis? About circumcision???” she captioned the new photo. “As any normal mother at the beach, I didn’t even notice he took off his swim diaper. I deleted it because you’re all (expletive) disgusting.”

She sarcastically added: “Here’s a picture of the pelican we obviously caught and abused for hours before dangling baby penis in its face.”

There’s something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there. Going off about my baby’s penis? About circumcision??? Are you for real? As any normal mother at the beach, I didn’t even notice he took off his swim diaper. I deleted it because you’re all fucking disgusting. And now I’m turning off my comments and shaking my head at the state of social media and keyboard warriors, And the negativity that you bring to other people’s lives. There is something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there. Smfh. Here’s a picture of the pelican we obviously caught and abused for hours before dangling baby penis in its face.
