Pink Brings Her Family to Hollywood Walk of Fame and Thanks Husband Carey Hart for Being 'My Muse'

Get the Hollywood Walk of Fame party started!

On Tuesday afternoon, Pink (née Alecia Moore) brought her kids — son, Jameson Moon, 2, and daughter, Willow Sage, 7 — and her husband, former motocross star Carey Hart, to accept one of the biggest honors for any pop, movie or TV star: receiving her own star on the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. Pink’s star sits next to Jackie Chan’s and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s, according to Variety.

“This is surreal. It has been a trip lately thinking back over the course of this career I’ve somehow managed to have. I signed my first record deal 23 years ago … and I’m only 23½ so that’s crazy,” the singer-songwriter, 39, joked as she accepted the award.

“It’s been two decades and it’s been meaningful and it’s been awesome. Today for me is a celebration of something that my dad taught me. And that is ‘to thine own self be true’ … There is a power in believing in yourself — you may not be the best that ever did it, you may not be the prettiest or the tallest of the funniest or the most talented … if you’re stubborn and you don’t give up and you work really hard — no one else can ever be you. Today is an absolute honor. Today proves that.”

She added: “Thank you to my fans — you guys make it matter. Thank you for coming. My husband — he’s so cute. He’s my muse and if he didn’t piss me off all the time I’d have not much to say. I wouldn’t be standing up here if it wasn’t for you. Never change. My children — you guys are my stars and I would never shine without you.”

Ellen DeGeneres, who uses a Pink song as the theme of her eponymous daytime talk show, supported the singer with a speech. The musician won an Emmy in 2016 for the song, titled “Today’s the Day.” Pal Kerri Kenney-Silver also spoke highly of her friend, saying, ““She shows up — in the biggest way imaginable.”

Following the ceremony, Hart shared some behind-the-scenes photos to his Instagram account. “Such a cool experience watching wifey get her star on Hollywood Walk,” he wrote. “Proud of you baby.”

Ahead of Tuesday’s ceremony, Pink shared that her mother had traveled to Los Angeles especially for her big day. She posted a selfie of the pair on Instagram, writing, “My mama is here and ready to party on Hollywood Blvd and Highland Blvd tomorrow at 11:30 am. They’re giving me a ⭐️ come join us x.”

In an interview with Variety published Tuesday, the singer revealed that, during to the ceremony, a dream she’d had since the beginning of her career would finally be coming true.

“I moved to Venice Beach when I was 19 and I didn’t know anybody — or anything,” Pink told the magazine. “I came out here by myself and I used to go to Hollywood Boulevard to buy stripper heels. I just remember seeing all those stars and thinking: ‘God, I hope this happens for me.’ And here we are.”

After receiving her star, Grammy winner will head out in March for an extended North American leg of her “Beautiful Trauma” tour, which will include 37 shows in two countries over three months, Variety reports. It’s named after her latest album, which clinched her 20th Grammy nomination, this one for best pop vocal album.

On the tour — just like on Tuesday — Pink’s kids are coming with her, even though she’s previously spoken about how challenging bringing them can be.

“Going on tour with children is really tricky. It’s exhausting. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Pink told fellow mom Reese Witherspoon in an interview aired in 2018. “But I’m very, very fortunate that I get to bring my kids with me and that I kind of get to integrate them into my [work] life.”

She’s also previously said that her kids will ultimately decide when she permanently parks her tour bus.

“When touring stops working for the kids, if they decide they just want to be home and have a normal life, whatever that means, I’ll stop because they are by far the priority,” Pink told Redbook magazine in its May 2018 issue.

“I think it’s cool that they get to see their mom be the boss and work really freaking hard to realize a dream,” she added. “I’d say it’s 95 percent positive.”

She then revisited her first tour as a mom for the outlet.

“When I left [for the Truth About Love Tour], Willow was 14 months, and I would come offstage and breastfeed her. That was our bonding time and some of my favorite moments,” she recalled, adding, “Jameson is now doing the same thing.”

And Pink wouldn’t want it any other way.

“If I had nannies raising my kids and just wanted to be a rock star and party all the time, I wouldn’t be successful and I wouldn’t be happy,” she admitted. “I’ve never juggled so many damn plates in my life, but it’s because I want to. I enjoy it.”
