Even North has rules when it comes to footwear — but her mom isn’t above letting her have a little fun first!
Kim Kardashian West‘s 5½-year-old daughter was not happy when she had to take off Kardashian West’s pink snakeskin boots after prancing around in them for a few photos. (To be fair, they matched her dress perfectly.)
Sharing the snapshots to social media on Wednesday, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star detailed how her oldest child made the fashion choice on her own before her mom had to lay down the law.
Notably, North has a very unhappy cry face on in the last photo as she clutches her coordinating accessories: a teddy-bear backpack and what appears to be a pink notebook.
“Sooooo Miss North dressed herself and thought she was ready for the day until I explained she couldn’t wear my boots. ??,” wrote Kardashian West, 38.

Beginning as early as 3 years old, when she tried on Kardashian West’s $1,700 Balenciaga boots, North has had a healthy appreciation for stylish shoes throughout her life.
More recently, the little girl donned her mom’s high heels at cousin True‘s first birthday party earlier this month, showing off her balancing skills as she toted around her little sister Chicago, 15 months.
Dressed to match her baby sibling in an orange feathered ensemble, North seemed unwilling at first to put Chi down until her mom could be heard insisting on it in a video she shared to her Instagram Story.
“How do you do this in heels? Okay, okay, put your sister down. No no no, I said just … ” said the KKW Beauty guru as North finally obliged and placed Chi on the ground next to her. “Northie, you gotta change into the shoes.”
Little Chi is already following in her mom and big sister’s fashion-forward footsteps, too.
In March, Kardashian West shared an adorable Instagram video of her youngest child walking in the reality star’s $592 neon Yeezy heels while carrying her $17,500 Hermès Kelly bag.
“Oh, you want your purse to go with it?” the mother of three said before handing Chicago, who could also be seen wearing a white long-sleeved T-shirt and striped pants, the mustard-colored bag.
“Look at you,” Kardashian West said while laughing before bending over to kiss the little cutie, whose focus remained zeroed in on the purse.
