Nicole Scherzinger’s Next Gig: ‘I’m Creating a Fitness Movement’

Nicole Scherzinger Opens a New Window. may be a musical powerhouse, but the singer excels at another physical pursuit too: keeping her body in tip-top shape. Now, she swings by the Us Weekly studios to share her fitness and diet secrets.

“I like to switch it up and try a lot of different things. And I can’t talk too much about it, but I’m really excited because I’m creating a fitness movement for women,” the Masked Singer Opens a New Window. panelist tells Us exclusively, adding that the program will also be for men.

The 40-year-old former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls first got the idea for her mysterious new venture from her own workouts. “Obviously I’m a woman, it was inspired by me and I thought I needed it to fit my needs but anyone can do it,” she teases. “And so, I’m really excited. When the time is right I’m going to share that with you all.”

In the meantime, the “Don’t Cha” singer, whose Fox celebrity competition show Opens a New Window. was recently renewed for Season 2, reveals the gym activities she does to round out her fitness regimen — and she’s clearly no slacker! “I really love everything from jogging to dance cardio to hot yoga, hot Pilates, boxing Opens a New Window. — whatever does the trick,” she says. “I have to switch it up ’cause I get bored after a while.” And she even prioritizes sweat sessions when she’s traveling. “If all else fails,” she says, “I’ll just get on the treadmill and put on my music and zone out. And I do it mostly for my frame of mind more than anything.”

When it comes to her diet, though, she’s a little more relaxed. “I wish I did!” she tells Us of keeping a strict diet. “When I’m shooting a video.”

“But that’s the beauty of it,” she adds. “With growing older gracefully, you kind of just accept yourself more and more and you’re like, ‘These truffle fries are worth it,’ you know what I’m saying? ‘This cheese is pretty tasty.’”

Scherzinger has been open about her prior battle with bulimia, telling Cosmo UK Opens a New Window. in 2017 that “it was very imprisoning and it stole all of my happiness, confidence and memories.” Now, the star focuses on being body positive — something that working out helps her with.

Her other wellness secrets are slightly more passive than her gym routine: “Sleep and water, and I think meditation and prayer is so important,” she says. “We don’t set aside enough time for ourselves to just let all of the noise and all of the dust and everything else settle and get back to the core of ourselves.”

Adds the singer, “I try to meditate and pray as much as I can because it’s what keeps me sane and aligned and focused.”
