Nev Schulman and Pregnant Wife Turn VMAs Red Carpet Into Maternity Shoot

The MTV Video Music Awards would not be the same without a makeshift maternity photo shoot from Nev Schulman and his wife, Laura Perlongo.

The couple, who are expecting their second child together, hit the red carpet ahead of the 2018 ceremony at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Monday, August 20. Their appearance came two years after Perlongo showed off her bare baby bump at the same awards show while pregnant with daughter Cleo.

This time around, the writer, 32, rocked a red blazer and matching pants with a midriff-baring white top. The Catfish host, 33, cradled his wife’s tiny baby bump as they smiled for photographers.

Schulman and Perlongo — who married at his father’s home in East Hampton, New York, in July 2017 — announced on August 15 that they have a second bundle of joy on the way.

“WE GOT A BUN IN THE OVEN! see you in January lil’ guy,” the MTV personality captioned a hilarious Instagram photo of himself, Perlongo and Cleo looking at an actual bun baking in the oven.

Perlongo, meanwhile, shared a funny picture of their 21-month-old throwing a temper tantrum. “Cleo is getting a baby brother! It’s gonna be great!” she wrote on her Instagram account.

One person who was not by Schulman’s side at Monday’s VMAs was his former cohost Max Joseph. The filmmaker, 36, announced on August 8 that he is leaving the show after seven seasons to focus on other projects. Schulman teased on Twitter earlier on Monday that Cardi B “may or may not announce something having to do with the next #catfish cohost” during the ceremony. However, he later tweeted that the announcement is “not actually happening.”

The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards air on Monday, August 20, at 9 p.m. ET.
