Everyone has their preferences where it comes to the “type” of person they prefer to date. Some folks prefer to date athletes while others are attracted to intellectuals; some prefer blonde hair while others prefer brunettes. We decided to poll our readers to find out which eye color they find most attractive on men, and while all colors seem to have their healthy share of fans, one color came away the clear winner.
Taking home over 6 percent of the votes were gray eyes. That steely, enchanting gaze that only gray-colored eyes can create seems to capture the hearts of a fair number of our readers. In fourth place, with over 14 percent of the vote, are green eyes. It seems our readers are in good company loving men with green eyes, as Cosmopolitan has rounded up their favorite male celebrities with a green gaze, including heart-throbs like Jude Law, Channing Tatum, and Jon Hamm. The top three eye colors
Third from the top, with just under 20 percent of the votes, are hazel eyes. This magical eye color that is, in truth, a combination of all other eye colors, can seem to change hue depending on the color the person is wearing and the lighting in the environment. We’ve heard of a date matching their tie to your dress, but their eyes? Date a man with hazel eyes, and that might actually be possible.
Second from the top are brown eyes, with just over 20 percent of the votes. The warm, deep gaze of brown eyes is a big part what makes people like Johnny Depp, Josh Hartnett, Will Smith, and Colin Ferrel so enchanting (via IMDB).
The winner, however, with nearly 39 percent of the votes, are blue eyes. Those eyes that look like oceans so deep they could pull you so far out to sea you’ll forget the shore ever existed? Yeah, those. It’s why so many of us love our blue eyes boys like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine, and Michel Ealy (via Who).
