Postpartum problems. Mercedes “MJ” Javid gave birth to her son, Shams Francis, on Wednesday, April 17, but has yet to hold her little one.
“The night my son was born was the worst night of my life,” the Shahs of Sunset star’s husband, Tommy Feight, said in a Thursday, April 18, Instagram video. “My wife had a ton of complications. She was in surgery for, like, five hours. [The doctors] didn’t tell me nothing, but they’re amazing … They saved a life. She’s still in ICU. She still hasn’t held her baby yet, [but] that should probably happen later today.”
Despite the issues surrounding his son’s birth, the new dad closed the footage by saying, “Everything’s great. I’m the happiest guy on Earth.”
He added the caption: “Pinch Me. If you find someone else happier then me they’re lying.”
Us Weekly broke the news in October 2018 that Javid, 46, and her husband, who wed six months earlier, were expecting their first child.
In December 2018, the reality star spent a night in the hospital for a cervical cerclage surgery, and the “painless” procedure included an epidural and a stitch.
“It’s been a pretty uneventful pregnancy until this week and now we’re just feeling like we’re in pretty good hands,” Javid revealed in a video from her hospital bed. “It’s gonna be bed rest for awhile.”
Now that their little one has arrived, Feight said that he is already taking after his mom. The baby boy is “in a tanning bed now with glasses on, no joke,” he said in his video. “He couldn’t be more like his mother if he tried. She went spray tanning before we went to the hospital.”
Shams “couldn’t be happier,” Feight added. “He’s pissed on every nurse.”
